As we enter Thanksgiving week, I have been reflecting on the quieter parts of gratitude. The complicated, beautiful ways that we give thanks for not only the joys and blessings, but also for the chapter, identity, and role we are outgrowing.

My beloved Dad, an entrepreneur himself, has always been a champion of my work. He’s given me wise business counsel, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout my journey. But back in the day, when I told him I was thinking of selling my Kids Yoga business he said, “You’re crazy! You have a good thing going!!”

On Monday, tears came out of nowhere. Peri-menopause is a wild ride. It’s puffy this, achy that, and emotions that sneak up and take over. But what I was really grieving is the woman I used to be.

After I sold my 21-year-old Kids Yoga business, I knew that in order to truly transition into my next chapter, I had to dismantle my old identity with intention. For me, it meant ritual.

Last Friday, I led an online workshop for my new body of work, The Outgrown Identity Club. Days later, my heart is still lit up and alive with inspiration.
