Maybe you’re here too. Tell me if you are,I’d love to know I am not alone.
I shared my feelings with my Boo, who recently arrived here in Portugal. Thankfully, he’s an emotionally present man.
He held exquisite space, and it felt so good to be witnessed and supported. To feel seen, understood, and loved in that vulnerable place was a blessing.
And it reminded me, we don’t have to hold our grief alone.
Sometimes, letting someone witness you in your grief is what allows it to soften and move through.
It was that way for me on Monday morning.
I share this with you because I imagine you may also experience your own grief.
Whether your grief is around hormones, a health diagnosis, another year older, changes at home, shifts at work, or the loss of someone dear—grief inevitably comes when we outgrow an identity and are crossing into something new.
It’s normal and natural—just like every other emotion.
But here’s the thing …
While grief may not be the most pleasant sensation, grief is not bad. It is a beautiful marker of your growth, showing your heart is invested, and that your life is shifting in meaningful ways.
Your grief deserves your attention, presence, and care.
Your grief is worthy of space, without needing to rush it out the door.
When you let yourself feel your grief, you honor all you’ve loved and everyone you’ve been. You let what’s heavy move through, so it doesn’t weigh you down tomorrow. Most of all, being with your grief is self-love in action. It’s proof you’re still in the game of being fully, courageously, humanly alive.
It is like your tears clearing a path for what’s next so that you can fully meet your next chapter … with an open heart.
Is there something shifting or changing or transitioning in your life right now?
Are you willing to give yourself permission to feel your grief as it arises?
Alone or with another?
Because remember, your grief is a part of your growth. And, reaching for the hand or heart of someone who can hold that space with you? It’s a gift. It’s what I do with women in The Outgrown Identity Club.
If you sense having support to help you hold your grief with love as you step into your next chapter with more meaning … I invite you to schedule a complimentary Navigate What’s Next Call with me.
