For context, Janey is highly successful in the Change Management field, a dedicated Mama to a nearly two-year-old girl, and a highly competent and intelligent woman who has a unique vision for a business that I know in my bones is going to influence the lives of many.
After two years of noodling around her idea in her head to the point where it kept her up at night—Janey knew it was time to take action and get support.
She came to me with a nebulous vision and a clear list of start-up business goals.
Things like …
✅ Strategize and write a business plan
✅ Register a chosen business name
✅ Develop services and products
✅ Implement an online presence
Now, these are reasonable, great, and necessary goals for launching any new business. It’s what I have done for my former Kids Yoga business and my current Coaching company—as well, I have helped hundreds of solopreneurs and small business founders to execute, too.
However, after two months of coaching, Janey is learning that starting up her business requires more than these foundational practical pieces. She’s realizing that launching her business is more than just checking tactical boxes.
Janey is appreciating that in order to build her business well—including creating something that is authentic to her, having a clear and aligned vision, and having consistent Self-care along the way—the formation of her new business has to include inner-work, too.
It must!
Why?
Because when you set out to do something big like Janey who is starting up her dream business—or you are growing your current business to its next level—it’s likely going to kick up your sh*t.
It’s likely going to have you feeling your fear and asking yourself, “What if no one likes my ideas?”
It’s likely going to have you facing your doubt and asking yourself, “What do I have to offer that is different from anyone else?”
It’s likely going to have you encountering your imposter syndrome and asking yourself, “What if I get caught seeming like I don’t know what I am doing?”
Your fear, doubt, and imposter syndrome are all a normal part of starting any business (and growing one too!) Heck, they are a normal part of being human!
So, if you are someone who is currently starting-up a new business, dreaming of doing so, or up-leveling to your next level of biz growth—it is important that you join Janey in adding “inner-work” to your business plan check-list.
Because if you don’t …
Your fears can stop you in your tracks.
Your doubts can keep you from moving forward.
And, your imposter syndrome can leave you in a vortex of compare and despair.
Thankfully Janey recognized this for herself, and with my coaching support, is now equally working consciously with her fears, doubts, and imposter syndrome just as much as she is writing her mission statement and strategizing her products and services.
Truly, as she is getting to know, love, and trust her inner-landscape and what might be in her way of starting her new biz—she is creating more clarity, alignment, and momentum in building out her dream business.
It’s what Leaders of Love do.
