It’s celebration time! Why?

You may have heard about Monday’s blackout across Portugal, Spain, and parts of France. For 12-hours I had no power, no internet, no water, no access to news, no form of communication.

Today is my birthday. And as I pause and reflect, I’m filled with both awe and humility—for the life I’ve lived and the ways I’ve learned to lead with love in my relationships, my business, and within myself.

The other day, a beloved client of mine was listing off everything she needed to do. “I need to update my website … I need to send out my newsletter … I really need to work on my group course.”

My first 2½ weeks in my new home in Portugal were without hot water. That’s right—cold showers for days. My nervous system was on tilt.

I bought a new laundry basket. A simple, everyday item. But to me? It felt like a win. Not only does it make the bathroom feel more complete, but I no longer have to stare at a pile of dirty clothes on the floor. Small? Sure. But it made a big difference.

After a month in the United States, I’m now back in Portugal—settling into my purple house. Arriving during the Spring Equinox feels divinely timed and perfect for planting the seeds of this next season of growth.

This past Sunday in Berkeley, California, my Boo and I attended a sweet and intimate event called Sofa Sessions, organized by SoulPlay—where community gathered to sing and cuddle on couches.

Last week, I flew over 18 hours from Lisbon to New Mexico to tend to my storage unit—deciding what to bring back to Portugal and what to sell or donate.

As I have been sharing with you lately, I am working on a house project in Portugal. To say that my perfectionist part has been making an appearance, is an understatement.

This week I did something big. And, I couldn’t have done it alone. On Monday, I signed “The Deed” and became a first time (in my life) homeowner in Portugal.

A few weeks ago, I was honored to facilitate an online workshop for 17 women in leadership. It was magical.

I am thinking of you today. And, as a fellow highly sensitive person, I wanted to send you a message with a gentle (and firm) reminder to take exquisite care of your Self right now.

The other day was a sh*t show. I woke up feeling heavy and depressed, sad and sobby. I called my bestie, named all the things, let out a big cry, and carried on with errands before starting my work-day.

When you were a child, were you ever told …
“Don’t color outside the lines.” 
“You have to get 90% or higher.”
“Be the best in your class.”

It’s been almost seven weeks since I sent you a newsletter! And while I chose to spend that time slowing down and being present with loved one’s this Summer, I missed connecting with you—my beloved, online community member.

It is the height of Summer, here in North America, and I hope wherever you are in the world that you are enjoying a meaningful time of year.

I can hardly believe that we are halfway through the year. That’s right—in less than six months, we will be reflecting on all that we accomplished and perhaps didn’t accomplish—in 2024.
