Are You Focusing On The Wrong Thing?

I’m JodiGolda

While these were all noticeable (and big!) outer changes, the real transformation was internal. Monumental if I am honest. Every shift was a shedding and rebuilding of my identity.

There were loved ones I disappointed. Beliefs I overcame.

There was grief and mystery—and, it was hardly ever easy.

But every time. Every single time …
The most courageous thing I did was honor my authentic truth.

Because here’s the thing about making a change: we tend to fixate on the outer work. The planning, the logistics, the how to get it done.

But the actual transformation requires going on a deep inner journey, too.

It means …

  • Having boundaries with others and sometimes disappointing loved ones.
  • Working with your limiting beliefs you might not even know you are carrying—the ones subtly holding you back. .
  • Letting go of who you think you are supposed to be, to make space for who you really are.
  • Grieving what and who you are leaving behind.
  • Learning to sit with Mystery.

Without this kind of inner work, you can move to a new country, leave the job, make the leap … and still feel like your true Self is missing from it.

But when you do both—the outer leap AND the inner journey—you don’t just land somewhere new. You arrive as someone new. Grounded. Clear. Authentically, unapologetically you.

Take Maria, for example. She’s in the current cohort of The Outgrown Identity Club and is planning a big move abroad to Italy. Yes, she is deep in the outer work right now—researching visas, considering locations, and sorting out allllll the logistics.

But the profound, life-changing work she’s doing? It’s happening inside of her.

Even with the very real fear of moving away from the people she loves—of choosing herself, perhaps for the very first time—she is having hard but honest conversations with her family. She even went to the cemetery to speak with her parents, asking for their blessing and support.

She is doing the brave, internal work of being open to any disappointments or projections from others, without letting them derail her own truth.

Maria spent decades as a Mother and a nurse, always giving, always caring for others. And now she is learning that wanting a life that is fully, authentically hers is not selfish.

It is authentic. It is aligned.

Do you hear a whisper for a real change in your life?

Perhaps it’s a desire to leave your corporate job to do your soul work. Or make a move abroad. Or transition out of a relationship. Or simply become a more authentic version of you.

Are you telling yourself your current situation is ‘fine’, but in the middle of the night you’re dying to get the heck out? Are you terrified of what others might say if you actually made the shift—so you just keep saying you’ll do it ‘soon’?

If this is you, I see you. I have been there too.

This is exactly why I created The Outgrown Identity Club.

It is a group coaching program—built on the success of my own many transitions—where I guide women to do the outer AND the inner work of a transition.

Inside the club, you will get:

  • A proven framework to take you from your first whisper of change to living with purpose on the other side.
  • A Sisterhood of high-achieving women who are shedding their old identities right alongside you.
  • Strategy & Soul to help you make empowered choices, honor your true Self, and navigate the messy unknown.
  • Personalized coaching and accountability that meets you exactly where you are.

We don’t just plan the logistics; we regulate your nervous system, rewire your limiting beliefs, and help you transition into your next chapter.
