That was me last Friday.
After 16 months of pumping HRT cream on my forearms and butt cheeks, I trusted my inner wisdom to stop.
Yes, I was getting mostly good results from HRT. But I could also see and feel that my uterine fibroids were increasing in size. (Likely, my body’s response to the extra estrogen.)
(Before you hit reply with concern: I am in contact with my OBGYN, with an ultrasound on the way. Things move slower here in Portugal, I’m not stressing. I’ve got it handled.)
My doctor said to lower to a homeopathic dose. And while I respected his input … I also valued something deeper.
The authentic voice inside of me that said: No. It’s time to wean myself off them, completely.
I’m sharing this because of what it taught me about the most powerful thing we can ever do for ourselves …
Making an empowered, authentic choice during an enormous change—despite what other people think or say.
This isn’t about convincing you to do what I did. It goes further than that …
It wasn’t a simple decision.
The fibroids were growing. And I was walking away from something that was genuinely helping me. But that’s not the whole story …
Our culture says women should not suffer. That we should take what’s available to us. And that we ought to “fix what’s broken”—including our peri-menopausal hormones.
We are surrounded by voices—doctors, wellness influencers, friends, family—that reinforce it, drowning out the one voice that matters most. Our own. The one that lives in the body. The one that always knows.
Ultimately, I listened to my own wisdom and I arrived at my conclusion.
This is what authenticity looks like during a season of change: honoring your truth even when the path isn’t clear.
Sound familiar?
Because making an authentic decision isn’t just about HRT.
It’s about the job you’re staying in past it’s expiration date even when every part of you knows it.
It’s about the relationship you’re not sure fits anymore but leaving feels too hard.
It’s about the version of yourself you’ve outgrown but still perform, because it’s what everyone expects.
It’s about the next chapter you can feel stirring and haven’t given yourself permission to step into yet.
Every transition—big or small—eventually asks the same question …
Will you choose what is true for you? Or will you choose what everyone else thinks you should do?
This is the work I guide women through in The Outgrown Identity Club.
Because learning to trust your own answer above the noise, above the expectations, above the fear of getting it wrong … that’s where the beautiful, tender, sometimes uncomfortable, but always deeply meaningful and real work lives.
Registration for the next cohort of the Outgrown Identity Club is open now.
This is an intimate circle of women who are navigating transition thresholds. In their bodies, their work, their relationships, their identities. Women who are ready to stop performing the old version of themselves and start moving toward what is authentically true.
Together we work with four pillars—Choice, Mystery, Authenticity, and Purpose—the full terrain of any transition.
You don’t need to know what’s next. You don’t need to have it figured out. You just need to be open to hearing your own truth again.

I stopped HRT not because I had all the answers. I stopped because not stopping would have felt like a betrayal of myself.
And that is always worth honoring.
Come join me on your wild, imperfect, and sacred transition journey.
