You might expect that she was distraught and terrified—I mean, real life woman here with a mortgage, bills, two girls, and the whole high-stakes unknown. Don’t get me wrong, she had concern. But not nearly to the degree you’d imagine.
Because prior to this, Stephanie and I spent months building her capacity to thrive in the unknown.
She came to me restless—longing for her life and work to feel more meaningful, purposeful, and joyful, knowing that she was outgrowing her old identity.
It’s why we focused there first … outgrowing an identity requires trusting the Mystery of what’s next.
So when she was laid off, Stephanie didn’t spiral into a crisis. She saw it as an opportunity and a blank canvas to create her most aligned next chapter.
My words to her: “You have been training for this.”
Because imagine if Stephanie hadn’t built resilience for being in the unknown?
Like most women (and because culture screams “get back to work!”), she might grab the next “safe” job just to escape the discomfort of not-knowing.
But that comes with a cost.
When your capacity with the Mystery is low, your anxiety spikes, your fear drives, and you’re dysregulated AF. And so, you settle for misalignment, hustle harder, and your Soul aches louder.
What if you could thrive in the unknown? What if being in the mystery was a portal to your authentic purpose instead of a dreaded detour?
This is the power of the Pillar of Mystery that I guide women leaders through in The Outgrown Identity Club. And, it’s where real transformation happens.
We do deep inner work to reclaim your authenticity, regulate your nervous system, and steady you in the messy middle so you emerge clear, confident, and ready.
It’s what you need to turn your transition into a new chapter that is aligned and brimming with fulfillment.
As for Stephanie? As of today, we are mapping her ideal role. She has interviews lined up for new positions that fully align with her values, meet her needs, spark joy, and will deliver the purpose she’s been longing for.
If you feel a restless pull—not knowing what’s next, but craving alignment with meaningful work, a creative legacy project, or a sacred sabbatical—and sense The Outgrown Identity Club is your path through …
