I know this because I’ve been there myself.
For years, I stayed in a very successful business I had built—because of the money. Yep, I had a solid, six‑figure income with multiple streams and passive revenue.
On the outside, it was a dream with abundant numbers and all.
But my inner world!? Not so much.
I was stressed out, unfulfilled, and if I am honest … under-delivering.
I was no longer building the business, just sustaining it. I wasn’t passionate about it anymore, and my head and heart were pulling me in other directions.
The money felt like a golden handcuff.
And, the steady and good income made the idea of leaving feel almost impossible. Yet, I was terrified to give it up.
I kept spinning in the same questions …
Why on earth would I walk away from this level of financial security AND could I ever create it again!?
Spoiler alert—I did walk away, and I have recreated it. With even more alignment, authenticity, and fulfillment!
Which tells me, you can too!
You may not be in the same exact situation, but you might be similar-ish.
Like you are in a role with great earning, and the money supports a life you’ve built. You can afford all the things you want, pay for your kids school tuition, take trips, and generously support loved ones—all thanks to that role you’re in.
But! There’s a real knowing inside of you that even with all that $$$—this isn’t it anymore.
That the golden handcuffs need to come off.
Because the truth is, staying in your outgrown identity/role isn’t free. And, the longer you stay—the more it costs you.
- You pay with your energy every time you dread Monday mornings.
- You pay with your health as anxiety builds in your nervous system during your meetings.
- You pay with your confidence as you are staying in something that you know isn’t authentic for you.
- You pay with your time because you are too drained to explore a more aligned role, project, or business that would actually light you up—and potentially grow your income!
- You pay with your Soul as you’re going against what’s true.
I am in no way suggesting that you quit your job tomorrow. I’d never say that to you.
But I am encouraging you to recognize that if you have outgrown a role, the safest financial decision is to make an intentional transition.
Because when you do, you stop leaking energy into work that no longer fits, you open up space for opportunities that align with who you are now, and you give yourself a real chance to earn in new ways that are meaningful and purpose-driven.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
You can be guided through your transition by someone who’s been there, with like-minded women who are going through the same changes as you are.
This is exactly what we are doing inside The Outgrown Identity Club: Activate Your Next Chapter online group program.
We begin in January, and registration is officially open!
If your heart is calling you to courageously look at what it might be like to step in a new direction that’s more aligned and authentic to you—you’ll want to join us!
