She also kicked breast cancer’s ass while selling one of her businesses and supporting her local family business in sales and marketing.
To say she has been a high achiever is truly an understatement.
And yet, it’s come at a cost—a cost many driven women know intimately, even if it’s rarely spoken aloud.
So here in my purple house, we ate charcuterie, sipped local wine, and listened to Lisa tell the truth about what it’s been like for her and where she’s at now.
After decades of hustling, doing and taking care of other people’s needs over her own—Lisa has come to a transition. She knows what’s worked for her in the past is no longer aligned for her now.
So these days, she’s not working, she’s resting. She’s not over-committing, she’s under-doing. She’s no longer tending to everyone else, she’s honoring her self. She’s recovering from burnout and intentionally slowing down in the unknown, breaking old habits of living and working outside herself so that one day she can step into her next purpose-driven chapter with clarity, fulfillment, and joy.
But get this… when I asked Lisa how this in-between season is for her, she said: “Indulgent!”
It’s like she’s finally making space to indulge in what truly matters to her. She’s honoring her truth, inner wisdom, listening deeply for balance and spaciousness. She’s choosing to align her life with her desires and values, and—for perhaps the first time—letting herself trust this uncomfortable but fertile pause.
Lisa is clearly a member of The Outgrown Identity Club.
And for right now, she’s embracing indulgence as her path to deeper meaning during her transition.
If you are anything like Lisa—a woman who’s built success, checked all the boxes, sacrificed for others, and now finds yourself yearning for something more—something that feels authentic and meaningful … you are likely ready for The Outgrown Identity Club as well.
Join me for my upcoming workshop, The Outgrown Identity Club: Women Leaders Creating Deeper Meaning in Their Next Chapter on October 24th.
This is for you if you’re ready to shift from self-abandonment and feeling unfulfilled, to honoring what’s genuinely yours to do next. It’s for you if you crave depth, fulfillment, and real purpose—not just another role or achievement.
Together, we’ll explore how to release what’s holding you back and invite in the next chapter that excites and nourishes you—even if you don’t quite know what that is yet.
